I have three instances on the #fediverse. pix.Wildeboer.net for pictures, vid.wildeboer.net for moving pictures and social.wildeboer.net for tweet style stuff. I’ll stay around over on Twitter too, but 2021 I’ll definitely focus on federated networks. 2/2

The only thing I can do, is to encourage.
To encourage to help us a bit.
We are the W3C Social CG.

We need help.

I still have a Twitter account but I think i have only visited once in the last month. I have found lately that I come to the Fediverse when I need to check a social feed. I get more out of it.
@jwildeboer Just out of curiosity: Did you manage to "convert" important contacts? Did you leave behind people that were only available to you on these platforms *and* important enough for you to care...? Still stuck in this process for a while because I can't get important folks off there. 😐
@z428 I honestly didn't really care. I told everyone where I'm reachable before I deleted these accounts and whoever wants to can move along. Sure, I've "lost" 2500+ "frineds" on Facebook when I deleted my account there. But a few months later I had 7500+ followers on GooglePlus. Which got closed. That's why I decided to run my own instances on the fediverse. Having followers is super cool, but Facebook simply wasn't worth it to me.
@jwildeboer I see. Never really had that many people or even "followers" on any of these platforms but a few people from past jobs, and a crowd of year-old close contacts I got in touch with earlier on mailing lists or in newsgroups and which at some point moved to Facebook when "everyone" did. That's hard to resolve, also remembering I lost a lot of dear contacts solely because of "platform issues". 😶
