Introducing #EurovisionFediVote. #Eurovision song contest but with #Activitypub based voting. Where you can run your Eurovision (virtual) party, voting by your followers and peers, celebrating your favourites of the official #ESC final in your community. Sharing your results with other groups. I’d like to see this happening. Let’s build it. Shall we discuss this at #FOSDEM? :)
@jwildeboer you know this already happens every year, right?
@jwildeboer Now that's an awesome idea. Enriched with country wise meta data it may as well replace conventional voting.Would love to see and participate.
@Raffzahn you will be pleased to know then that it already existed for a couple of years now:

@rybson Err ... no. AFAI understand @jwildeboer 's point was making it an Eurovision extension, replacing the centralized and ever changing Eurovision rules by free Fediverse based voting system. After all, a main point about Eurovision is to unite whole of Europe (if not the whole world) for one evening with one big festival not many tiny ones.
@jwildeboer Ooh I am really curious to understand the affordances and limits of AP-based voting
@jwildeboer@wildeboer.net We used to do that on Twitter! A long time ago I wrote a thing cashed HashMoot that allowed you to tweet something (like a product name or service) along with a score ('marks out of ten', like 6/10) and the hashtag #moot, and they'd all be gathered into a database. You could search the database for a product, and it would average all the scores for that search.
It was neat. Nobody used it.
But every year we did repurpose it to score Eurovision entries. That was fun!
