The #W3C publishes ethical guidelines for the web [1] on the same day that #Mozilla decides to remove "Do Not Track" [2] from their #Firefox browser. Oh, the irony :)

IMHO: The ethical guidelines that the W3C has published reads like a list of things they know are wrong but that they let happen anyway. The web won't be saved by nicely asking for stakeholders to please, please do a bit better. Again, IMHO.
@jwildeboer the sad thing is that iirc there was an actual court case in Germany about how "Do not Track" was actually a valid opt-out request according to gdpr.
@jwildeboer DNT was a bad idea from the start. Surprised it took this long to throw in the towel.
