It’s kind of weird to see a luxury car from the 1990s next to a modern car. That Mercedes was considered a really big car at its time.
(It’s really funny to read the excuses in the replies that people come up with. „It was the smallest Benz!“ - Yes, but compared to other cars of that time it *was* quite big. Not huge, but still a Benz. „Family vans have always been bigger too!“ - yep. And Trucks are even bigger ;) Accept the simple truth. Cars have in general become bigger, especially wider. Parking spaces have grown with that. Cars occupy more and more space in cities and that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Especially that they became wider is a problem, as the width of streets hasn’t grown accordingly. This is a problem I’ve noticed over the years. Cars *are* closer to me when I ride my bicycle on bike lanes that are just marked, not physically separated from car lanes.
