Relatedly, I've been looking for information on which plant foods are lowest in microplastics and the best ways to avoid microplastics in plant foods.

It's a fascinating (if terrifying) rabbit hole. I'm learning a lot but I haven't found what I'm actually looking for.

Again, if anyone has actual expertise (as opposed to well-intentioned layperson opinions) or can point at reliable sources, I'd love help on this. Thank you! 2/n

The Cambridge World History of Food, Volume 2 by Kenneth F. Kiple & Kriemhild Coneè Ornelas (Editors)

An undertaking without parallel or precedent, this monumental volume encapsulates much of what is known of the history of food and nutrition. It constitutes a vast and essential chapter in the history of human health and culture. Ranging from the eating habits of our prehistoric ancestors to food-related policy issues we face today.

- I accidentally and quietly did an excellent job. I completed the same practice exercise as I did about 4 years ago. Back then, it was 100% anxiety and fear and stress and confusion. Today, it was incredibly easy. And also it didn't matter, because last time I was in the training process and today I was just testing it, so no pressure!

- strawberries and oats and honey and yoghurt (pronounced "yoggit")

- a lovely decaf tea in my current favourite mug

- Had "the talk" with my manager and it went okay thanks to the words provided here by my pocket friends.

- Fiancé spent a lot of money on some bedding because it's supposed to be super soft. (It isn't, and Fogarty Soft Touch from Dunelm remains superior in every way, but it's his care about my sensory proclivities that makes this a good thing.)

- Sticky toffee pudding. 1min in the microwave. I was literally licking the bowl after that.

I'm sad because I bought fresh ingredients to make a healthy and tasty dinner, but now I'm too tired. I'm going to bed instead.

I'll be even more mad if the bread is gone off tomorrow.

But on the upside, I set myself a challenge to buy fruit/veg in 4 different colours and I succeeded.

Yellow: bananas
Purple: grapes
Green: watercress
Red: strawberries

Eating them is a whole different challenge...

Nope. Instead I'm going to make pancakes for one, only I'm going to whisk up the egg whites before folding them into the batter to see how they turn out.

Nutella, here I come!

Thinking of starting a dumpling club. Like a book club but every month we eat dumplings together and talk about them on Zoom.

There will be some recommended dumplings, or you can make or buy your own and that’s okay too.

I feel like eating dumplings with people when the world is burning feels like something I want to do.

I read yet another article about how the gut is like another brain or strongly linked to your brain or something.

It's certainly true for me that when I'm upset my colon is the first thing to respond so I wondered if this works in reverse and making my tummy happy would make me happy.

And that's why I'm eating a Terry's Chocolate Orange! Delizioso!

As Annie and Aretha sang, Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves. For International Women's Day, I chatted with a couple of awesome female solo founders of food production companies: Morgan Mitchell of Green Goddess and Becky Prime of Beck's Broth
